Let's go shopping

1)Students will be able to calculate sales tax and apply discounts
2)Students will be able to budget according to their shopping list

I motivated students by offering a free dinner (donated by local restaurant)to the student in each class that came closest to $1000.00 without going over.

1) Go over directions with students so they understand the project.(All activity sheets are attached)
2) Go over each worksheet table.
3) Use an example for each table so students know how to fill in each worksheet.
4) Supervise students on computers.
5) Make sure students double check calculations for mistakes.
6) Collect, Check, and Announce winners.

Have students write a response to the project. What would they do differently next time, if anything? Where did they go wrong, or what did they do right? Did they like the project? What did they learn from this project?
